Welcome to Sonoma Summit
A private, 1,119-acre mountaintop sanctuary—just an hour north of San Francisco
Located atop Sonoma Mountain, Sonoma Summit is a private sanctuary—a world unto itself, with panoramic views spanning from the Bay to the Pacific. The landscape is a mosaic of lakes, orchards, high pastures, manicured forests, and compounds designed for living, working, and convening. It is both deeply natural and meticulously prepared—a place where visionaries gather to walk the land, share insights, and explore long-horizon ideas.
“The precise location of heaven on earth has never been established, but it may very well be right here.”
— Herb Caen
The Mountain’s Deep Reserve
A Living Ecosystem at the Top of Sonoma Mountain
An abundant watershed is the foundation of Sonoma Summit. Waterfalls echo through fern-lined canyons; springs surface in unexpected clearings; a protected swimming hole rests below Swan Lake. This hydrology underwrites everything: fire-safe infrastructure, year-round beauty, and assurance that the land is always supplied. Two substantial lakes—Swan Lake and Glen Ellen Lake—anchor the property, supported by six spring-fed ponds, a dozen natural springs, and high-capacity wells.
Year-round Production
A Landscape that Feeds Itself
Year-round, self-sustained production is supported by an ~8,000-square-foot greenhouse complex and an extensive orchard of fruit and nut trees. The greenhouse includes a main production house, dedicated workstations, and an Orangery that doubles as an intimate event space. Surrounding terraces are planted with more than a hundred fruit, nut, and olive trees, along with lavender and rosemary—an intentional threshold where cultivation meets wildland. Light regenerative agriculture provides farm-to-table meals and supports the land.
The World from Above
With quiet ridgelines and long, expansive vistas from San Francisco to the Pacific, Sonoma Summit is defined by an elevated perspective. At its highest point, the estate reaches the top of Sonoma Mountain—a commanding view of the world, and a world apart.
Privacy & Security
Sonoma Summit pairs true seclusion with real-world access. Two private road approaches rise from both sides of the mountain. Inside the gates, miles of paved roads and drives connect the summit, lakes, pastures, and compound. State-of-the-art power, water, and communications infrastructure—all under the protection of world-class fire-safety systems.
Realms to Explore
Ridge trails run in long, easy lines with views in every direction; paths drop into cool forest canyons; tracks along the lakes invite slow walks at the water’s edge. Roads and trails connect the summit, lakes, barns, and woods, while Jack London State Park and other preservation-minded neighbors extend the experience of open country. You can cover real distance here—on foot, horseback, bike, or All-Terrain Vehicle—across one continuous stretch of land.
Space to Connect
Gathering at Sonoma Summit is more like an extended conversation than an event. Sessions might begin under the trees, drift to the mountaintops, and continue by the fire or at the water’s edge. The setting is quiet, private, and intentionally scaled—designed for invitation-only circles that value depth over spectacle.
A Sanctuary for Self-care
First light over the Bay. Coffee on the porch or in the garden. A quiet walk along the ridge. The day softens with time to read, reflect, and settle into your flow. Nights are often spent by the fire, at the lake, or stargazing at the summit. The mood here is private and understated—a place to retreat, recalibrate, and restore.
One Landscape, Infinite Possibilities
Sonoma Summit is a single, continuous world—open pastures and old-growth forests, deep waters and panoramic ridgelines, cultivated grounds and wild country. It can support sustainable agriculture, a private retreat, or a space for intimate gatherings and extended visits—shaped entirely by your purpose.
"Everybody needs beauty—places to play and pray, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul."
— John Muir
