Directions to Sonoma Summit

Sonoma Summit can be accessed from either side of Sonoma Mountain, and each approach uses its own separate entrance. For that reason, the final approach from Petaluma is NOT the same as the final approach from Sonoma. Please follow the directions for the side you’re coming from, and do not mix steps between the two routes.

For safety, please keep speeds under 15 mph on private roads.

From Petaluma

Northbound Hwy 101 — Petaluma

  1. In your GPS, enter: Rooster Run Golf Club, Petaluma, CA
    Note: Do NOT enter “3100 Sonoma Mountain Road” in your GPS—this will send you in the wrong direction.

  2. Take the East Washington exit and turn right (east).

  3. Continue past the Rooster Run Golf Club (GPS ends here—do not stop).

  4. Continue past the airport.

  5. Turn left onto Old Adobe Rd (you cannot go straight).

  6. After ~¾ mile, turn right onto Sonoma Mountain Rd.

  7. Continue up ~5 miles to the red gate → Code: 0219

  8. Continue 1 mile on asphalt, over 6 speed bumps.

  9. At the Sonoma Summit gate, enter → Code: 1967#

  10. Follow the road downward, through the woods to a T, then turn left.

  11. Pass the greenhouse on your left and continue to the main house.

Hwy 80 or 37 — Sonoma 

  1. In your GPS, enter: 3100 Sonoma Mountain Rd, Petaluma, CA

  2. When you reach the gate at the top of Alta Sonoma Rd, enter → Code: 1967#

  3. Continue through the woods, over the hill, and past the lake.

  4. Pass the barn on your right, then the greenhouse on your left.

  5. Continue to the main house.
